What We’ve Been Building at InCLASS: Community Updates & What’s Ahead

As InCLASS continues to grow, one of the things we value most is bringing our community along with us on the journey. Every workshop, service project, donation, conversation, and partnership is helping shape what InCLASS is becoming, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve already received.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on recently and what’s still ahead.

Oxbow Eco-Center Day of Service

One of our recent highlights was connecting with Oxbow EcoCenter’s homeschool program. Their volunteer coordinator has helped us set up a day of service at the Oxbow Eco-Center in July. One of our five core programs at InCLASS is community service. We believe students should not only learn about the world around them, but also actively contribute to it.

Experiences like these allow students to:

  • Develop responsibility and teamwork

  • Build environmental awareness

  • Strengthen communication and collaboration skills

  • Connect learning to real-world impact

  • See themselves as active contributors to their community

While volunteer hours are valuable, our goal is to help students understand that service is also about leadership, problem-solving, and civic engagement.

As we continue building our programming, we’re excited to create more opportunities for students to participate in meaningful community-based experiences that help them grow both personally and socially. Student-led projects are coming soon. In the meantime, we look forward to participating in existing initiatives that help improve our community.

Community Book Exchange & Donation Drive

We are also continuing preparations for our upcoming Community Book Exchange for middle and high school students.

This initiative was created to encourage literacy, increase access to books, and help students build personal libraries in a way that feels accessible and community-centered. Reading plays a major role in vocabulary development, comprehension, empathy, critical thinking, and academic growth, yet many families still face barriers when it comes to consistently accessing books that interest their children.

We’ve been incredibly encouraged by the support and interest we’ve already received from community members, educators, and organizations willing to donate books and resources.

We are currently accepting donations, including:

  • Young adult/Juvenile fiction

  • Manga and graphic novels

  • Educational and enrichment books

  • Diverse and culturally responsive titles

Our hope is that this event becomes more than just a book exchange. We want it to become a space where students feel excited about reading, discover new interests, and connect with peers through shared experiences and conversations.

Workshops Are Still Going

Our virtual workshops continue to be an important part of what we offer at InCLASS.

These sessions are designed to expose middle and high school students to topics that support both academic and personal growth, including:

  • Career exploration

  • Leadership development

  • Communication skills

  • Goal setting

  • College and workforce readiness

  • Life and transferable skills

We want students to feel empowered to ask questions, explore interests, build confidence, and begin thinking intentionally about their futures. As we continue growing, we’re looking forward to expanding both our workshop topics and opportunities for student collaboration in-person.

Building Toward the InCLASS Student Success Center

Behind the scenes, we are continuing to work toward our long-term goal of opening the InCLASS Student Success Center for homeschool and digital learners in Port St. Lucie.

This space is being designed to support middle and high school students through:

  • Academic coworking

  • Tutoring and coaching

  • Career readiness programming

  • Leadership opportunities

  • Mentorship

  • Community service initiatives

  • Collaborative learning experiences

More importantly, we want this space to intentionally support healthy adolescent development by helping students build communication skills, confidence, leadership abilities, and meaningful peer relationships. Our vision is not simply to create another educational program or replace the existing microschools and co-ops. We are building a community-centered space where students can learn, grow, collaborate, and feel supported.

How You Can Support InCLASS

As a growing nonprofit initiative, community support plays a huge role in helping us move forward.

Supporters can help by:

  • Donating books or educational resources

  • Sharing our mission with families and other organizations

  • Participating in workshops and events

  • Volunteering or partnering with us

  • Contributing financially toward our future Student Success Center building fund

  • Sharing our impact and our posts

Donations directly support the foundational needs required to establish and operate our future facility, including securing a location, licensing, insurance, furnishings, educational resources, and student programming.

Every contribution helps us continue building opportunities for homeschool and digital learners in our community.

Thank You for Growing With Us

Starting something new always begins with small steps, consistent effort, and community support. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has encouraged, shared, donated, volunteered, partnered, or followed along with the InCLASS journey so far.

There is still so much ahead, and we’re excited to continue building alongside this community. More updates coming soon.
