Off the Shelf: Community Book Exchange

Discover Your Next Great Read

We believe books are meant to be shared, enjoyed, and passed along. Off the Shelf is a free community book exchange designed to connect readers, encourage literacy, and make books more accessible for families throughout the Treasure Coast.

Whether you're clearing space on your bookshelf, searching for your next favorite story, or simply looking to connect with fellow book lovers, Off the Shelf offers a welcoming space to explore, exchange, and discover.

How It Works:

  • Bring gently used books you'd like to share (totally optional!)

  • Browse books donated by our community partners (The Book Exchange in Port St. Lucie and Once Upon a Child in Jensen).

  • Take home new-to-you titles that spark your interest.

  • Meet other readers and celebrate a love of books.

We're excited to exchange:

  • Young Adult and Middle Grade Fiction

  • Nonfiction and Magazines

  • Manga, Anime, and Graphic Novels

  • Test Prep Books

  • Personal Development Books

Reading for pleasure strengthens literacy skills, expands vocabulary, builds empathy, and fosters lifelong learning. Off the Shelf helps keep books circulating throughout our community while making reading more affordable and accessible for everyone.

Join Us! Together, we can build a stronger community of readers, one book at a time.

(Admission is free. No registration required)
